The single most important suggestion I can offer: Don't play Native. You can receive renown from winning a battle, a tournament, even joining a faction.įINAL WORDS This game is what you make of it. If you are looking to start your own faction, you better have 10 shitloads of this stuff (About 20 shittons). Renown: I believe this gets its own subsection, just because of how overlooked and important it is. Whenever your kingdom gets a new conquest, ask your king if he would favor you in receiving that castle/town/village. One thing I will say, is that wars happen naturally, and I personally just let it come. Soon enough, you will have a war on your hands. Just go up to their villages, and demand supplies, or just burn it to the ground. Sure, your king will be angry at you, but you can change that with a couple quests. You want to start a war, huh? Just provoke the enemy. Let me just say, this is the most fun part of the game. For me, late game is any war you have started once you have 30+ men, whether you made your own factions or not.(BTW, install diplomacy mod, suggested by /u/raxies94). Late Game: A lot of people differ on what is "Late Game" in M&B. Hands down the best balanced faction in the game, if you are new to this game, go with the Swadians, although their start position sucks (possibilty to have wars with all factions). All cav armies are hilarious against nords(no cav) because you can just tell your guys to never engage, and they will just circle forever. These guys are soooo fun, although they are weak. Hell, even there lore is them getting their asses kicked by the nords. Rhodoks are kind of a tricky one, because you really need to utilize their shield wall, which is with all their spearmen against cavalry. Sarranids have the best cavalry in the game (Mamlukes are better than swadian knights, contrary to personal belief) while the nords have the best infantry in the game (huscarls). My personal favorite is Sarranids, or the Nords. Mid Game: This is where things get tricky, and you might want to look for a faction to join. Mad bank if you just keep the money from a faction you wont join. When you talk to the king, they might give you a quest to collect taxes. Another good way to earn money is if you know what faction you are going into to, try and become a mercenary to that faction. This is one of the most important parts of the game.Įarly Game: Tournaments. Picking the top choices in all of your options will make sure you have a banner. I personally like to go woman/banner because they are challenging, but not too overboard. Character Creation: This will decide whether you want to spend a long time in the early-mid game, or not.
